We understand this is a difficult time for everyone, and our thoughts go out to those who have been affected by the pandemic.
Although our physical offices are closed, JZC Intellectual Property Law is committed to continuing to support our existing clients as well as servicing new clients during this time through online means such as email, telephone, and video conference.
We understand that many essential businesses continue to operate during this time, while others are taking this time to refocus on other aspects of their business such as marketing, research and development, and intellectual property matters. We will be here to support all of these efforts.
For businesses that are impacted financially, we are open to discussing a temporary reduction in legal fees or alternative payment terms.
The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) remains open at this time, and will continue to process new patent and trademark filings. However, due to service disruptions there may be delays in many CIPO services. As a result of these delays, CIPO deadlines falling within the period between March 16, 2020 to April 30, 2020 are currently extended to May 1, 2020. However, depending on the circumstances, this may be further extended. CIPO status updates may be found here.
